Visualizing the Future of Humanity Madness

Deadmau5. Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known as Deadmau5 (pronounced "dead-mouse"), is a Canadian DJ and electronic music producer. Under the alias Testpilot, he primarily produces progressive house music, but he also produces and DJs other genres of electronic music, including techno. Zimmerman has been nominated for six Grammy Awards for his work.
His musical career began in the late 1990s, when he used the Impulse Tracker to create a chiptune and demoscene movement-influenced sound. Zimmerman graduated from Niagara Falls' Westlane Secondary School. He then worked as a programmer and for an online music licensing company. He chose the name Deadmau5, which was inspired by a dead mouse he discovered in his computer; the unusual spelling was due to character limitations.

Swire has since played a variety of roles in Pendulum, ranging from songwriting to singing live while using an unusual guitar-like MIDI controller - Starr Labs' Ztar Z6S-XPA.
